Senate Budget Committee Approves Nomination of OMB Director Shaun Donovan in Bipartisan Vote

Today, Chairman Patty Murray (D-WA) and the Senate Budget Committee held a markup of the nomination of Secretary Shaun Donovan to be Director of the Office of Management and Budget. The nomination passed through the Committee with a roll call vote of 15-6, and will now head to the Senate floor.

Murray released the following statement after the vote:

“I am pleased that the Senate Budget Committee has approved Secretary Donovan’s nomination with bipartisan support. Secretary Donovan will be a great partner in working to make critical investments in jobs and opportunity, while also addressing long term budget challenges. It is clear Secretary Donovan is focused first and foremost on strengthening the middle class, and creating opportunity for workers and families, and I look forward to the full Senate quickly approving this nomination.”

The Senate Budget Committee recently held a hearing to consider Donovan’s nomination.
