Jim Neill Joins Budget Committee as Director of Coalitions and Outreach

WASHINGTON D.C. – Senate Budget Committee Chairman Mike Enzi (R-WY) today announced the appointment of Jim Neill as Coalitions and Outreach Director. The position, focused on grassroots and business trade associations, will increase the dialogue and exchange of ideas between the Committee and organizations focused on the federal budget process and debt reduction.

“I am pleased to welcome Jim to the staff of the Senate Budget Committee,” said Chairman Enzi.“Jim’s skills and experience will help expand and engage the Budget Committee beyond Capitol Hill to good government advocates, coalitions, and trade associations that are committed to restoring the trust of hard-working taxpayers in a more effective government that delivers real results and real progress.” 

Jim returns to Capitol Hill with over 10 years of experience in various advocacy and coalition roles for manufacturing and retail trade organizations, including the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) and Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA). 

Jim’s government and political experience includes a position for Senator Bill Frist’s (R-TN) at the National Republican Senatorial Committee during the 2002 election cycle. He also served as Senate Liaison for then Wisconsin Governor Tommy Thompson (R), during his nomination and confirmation to Secretary of Health and Human Services in 2000.  Jim also held key leadership roles on the GOP platform committee staff in 2000 and 2004 for the Republican National Convention.

Jim arrived in Washington from his native Michigan in 1995, working on Capitol Hill for Senator Spence Abraham (R-MI) until 2000.
